Key Metrics & Insights
Competitor Map
When you use the "Global Overview-Competitor" feature, the first section that automatically appears is "Competitor Map".
After filtering by "Date," "Competitors," and "Device," all sections under this feature, including the "Competitor Map," will display specific data based on your selections.
The "Competitor Map" presents the total number of competitors for the app you are tracking in various countries around the world.
This visualization helps you easily identify regions with a higher or lower number of competitors, thereby gaining insights into the competitive landscape of different countries or regions.
It can assist businesses in recognizing market saturation levels and identifying potential market opportunities.
🗒️ Note: The Competitor Map displays the top 3 competitors in the top 10 countries by competitor count.
If you zoom in on the map, you'll discover more country markers.
This focus helps you concentrate on the most important regions and competitors.
There are two ways to study the map data mentioned above.
- The first method supports you to view the global overview. Here's how it works:
When you first open the page, you'll see different colors on the left side representing various data. The map on the right corresponds to these colors, representing different data points.
The deeper the shade of blue, the higher the number of competitors; conversely, lighter shades indicate fewer competitors, with red representing the lowest data volume.
- The second method supports you to conduct a more precise and personalized study of the regions you are interested in. Here's how it works:
Simply hover your mouse over the ranking data axis on the left or the map on the right.
If you hover your mouse over the ranking data axis on the left, the ranking data on the left will correspond to the map part that turns dark blue on the right.
If you hover your mouse over some areas of the map on the right, it will show specific data.
Global Competitors Overview
"Global Competitor Overview" is located to the right of the Competitor Map.
"Global Competitor Overview" includes the following three dimensions: Total Number of Competitors, Total Estimated Downloads, and Total Estimated Revenue. The Total Number of Competitors includes the number of competitors within the category and label of the app you are tracking.
These three dimensions in the "Global Competitor Overview" offer a comprehensive perspective on the competitive environment, helping you better understand market dynamics and the competitive landscape.
- You can assess the market's competitive density by understanding the number of competitors within the category and label of the app you are tracking.
- Estimated download figures indicate market demand and user interest in different apps.
- Estimated revenue data reveals the market's profitability and potential business opportunities.
Competitors Details
We support you in viewing specific competitor data at the bottom of the page, including the following dimensions: Suggested Country/Region, Rating, Ranked Keywords, Estimated Downloads, and Estimated Revenue.
Suggested Country/Region recommends the countries where your competitors have listed their products, helping you choose the most suitable countries or regions for listing and expanding your product.
Rating, Ranked Keywords, Estimated Downloads, and Estimated Revenue show the highest and lowest specific data. Through this detailed data analysis, you can better understand the global market performance, make targeted optimizations and adjustments, and thereby enhance overall business performance.
🗒️ Note: If you have a target competitor, FoxData supports you to directly search for your target competitor's ID or package name in the top left corner.
Can I conduct further comparative research on the competing products I'm interested in?
Certainly! FoxData supports you in conducting comparative research.
You just need to click the "vs" icon in the last column to compare the app you're tracking with competing products in terms of Supported Countries, Visibility Score (avg.), Ranked Keywords, Bidding Keywords, Rating Reviews (avg.), Estimated Downloads, and Estimated Revenue. This data comparison will help you better understand your app's performance in the market and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
The data for the app you're tracking is displayed on the left, while the corresponding data for the competing app is on the right.
🗒️ Note: To help you quickly distinguish between better and worse data performance and identify areas for improvement, sections with poorer performance will be highlighted in red.
Once you've identified the data dimensions underperforming of the app you're tracking or its competitors, FoxData supports you to click "view more" next to the data to explore details for further in-depth research.
👏
Expert Tips: This feature can help you quickly identify areas for improvement for the app you're tracking.
For instance, ChatGPT has fewer "Supported Countries" compared to its competitor, "ChatOn AI," which covers 5 additional regions, you can click "view more" to see details.
This allows you to easily discover 5 new potential markets for "ChatGPT" to expand into: Belarus, Hong Kong, Macao, Russia, and Venezuela.
If you want to explore more dimensions beyond these comparison metrics or dive into more detailed data for the above dimensions, click the "+" icon in the last column to add it as a competing product.
When you click to add a competitor, a country selection box will pop up. You can use the country selector to choose globally or filter by different countries.
👏Expert Tips: To facilitate your research, we recommend selecting multiple apps that interest you and adding them as competitors.
Once added as competitors, you can manage them in the
Follow-My Competitors section. This allows you to directly compare specific dimensional data across the following 6 features.
Can I conduct research on specific countries besides globally?
Of course! You have two methods to conduct this research.
1. If you have a target country in mind, simply use the country filter box in the top left corner to make your selection.
2. If you don't have a target country, we recommend conducting global research first and then identifying the countries you want to study.
In the Competitors Details section, each specific number in the data dimension columns has a globe icon next to it.
By clicking this icon, you can view the Top Performance Countries and Worst Performance Countries for the data, which can help you further analyze the best and worst-performing markets to identify opportunities or conduct more targeted research.
After selecting the country you wish to study further, the page will directly navigate to display the competitor information for that specific country. This includes data in three sections: Competitor Map, Global Competitors Overview, and Competitors Details.
In the Competitors Details section for a specific country, the data dimensions are more diverse to facilitate in-depth competitor research. These dimensions include: Category Ranking, Ranked Keywords, Est. Downloads, Est. Revenue, Rating, Reviews count, Latest Update, and Earliest Release.
🗒️ Note: To meet your personalized research needs, FoxData allows you to directly filter the above dimensions. Simply click the "settings" icon in the last column to apply your filters.
