Digimon fans have reason to be excited as Bandai Namco has teased an upcoming mobile card game based on the beloved franchise. The announcement was made via the official Digimon social media accounts, accompanied by a cryptic teaser image hinting at a fresh take on the Digimon trading card experience.
While details remain scarce, the teaser suggests that this new mobile card game will incorporate strategic deck-building mechanics, possibly blending elements from the physical Digimon Trading Card Game with digital-exclusive features. The game is expected to introduce new ways for players to collect, battle, and evolve their Digimon companions.
The mobile version of Pokémon TCG earned over half a billion dollars within three months of its release, according to Pocket Gamer, showing that fans are just as eager to collect virtual cards as they are to gather physical ones. A new teaser video shared on the Digimon TCG account hints at an upcoming digital version of the Digimon card game. A special announcement is planned during Digimon Con, which will take place on March 20 at noon JST (11 p.m. EST).

The video begins with a recognizable shadow falling over a lone orange phone, followed by a clawed beast's hand picking up the phone. The "camera" then pans to reveal Renamon, a humanoid golden fox Digimon that first appeared in the original Digimon Tamers anime that aired in 2001. Renamon recoils as the phone turns sideways and hovers at eye level. When Renamon curiously touches the screen, the Digimon turns into golden cubes and is sucked into the phone.
While this is all the information fans get from the video, the accompanying X post states that the Digimon Card Game is working on a new project that's "coming soon," and that fans can expect an official announcement during a live stream of Digimon Con on March 20.

The teased mobile card game isn't the only title Digimon fans can look forward to. Bandai Namco is also developing Digimon Story Time Stranger, a monster-taming RPG set to release in 2025, taking players through both the human and Digital worlds. The game will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Although Bandai Namco has yet to announce an official release date for the mobile card game, industry insiders predict a late 2025 launch. The game will likely be available on both iOS and Android devices, possibly with cross-platform compatibility.
