: Help!!! For 2 years, the people here have making their submissions into the sample repository. Now it's MY job to export this monster onto a another server. The docs say you can't do it. Any suggestions?
: It's 4.0 standard on a crappy old generic AT PC. I need to move it to 4.2 Enterprise (new install) on a Dell box.
Once your new server is up and running with StarTeam on it, do the following:
Shut down all your StarTeam Server Configurations.
Copy the Samples directory and all its subdirectories from the old server on to the new server, replacing the sample that was installed on the new server during the installation.
In the directory ?C:\Program Files\StarTeam VirtualTeam Server 4.0\Samples\config files? (provided you have a standard installation), you will find 2 files:
Move the files to ?C:\Program Files\StarTeam VirtualTeam Server 4.0\Config Files? (or the directory where you have your StarTeam Server Configuration Files on your new server).
Start StarTeam Repository Tools and run Database Update on the StarDraw Configuration.
The StarDraw Configuration will now be available and can be migrated to a new DBMS such as MS SQL Server, or you can leave it on Access.
